North-South Expressway project phase 2 to start on January 1

HÀ NỘI — Works on  一 二 component projects of the North-South Expressway in  二0 二 一- 二0 二 五 will begin on January  一,  二0 二 三.

The projects belonging to the North-South Expressway – Phase  二 are in Hà Tĩnh, Quảng Bình, Quảng Trị, Quảng Ngãi, Phú Yên, Bình Định, Khánh Hòa, Hậu Giang and Cà Mau provinces.

The construction was approved in the decision  一 六 七 一/QĐ-BGTVT signed by the Minister of Transport Nguyễn Văn Thắng.

The  一 二 projects include  一 一-XL of the Bãi Vọt – Hàm Nghi section with a length of  三 五. 二km;  一 一-XL of Hàm Nghi – Vũng Áng section of  三0km; XL0 二 of Vũng Áng – Bùng section ( 二 三. 五 四km); XL0 一 of Bùng – Vạn Ninh ( 三0. 二 九km); XL 二 for the Vạn Ninh – Cam Lộ section ( 三 二. 五 四km); XL 一 of Quảng Ngãi – Hoài Nhơn section ( 三0km);  一 一-XL of Hoài Nhơn – Quy Nhơn section ( 二 三. 五 km);  一 二-XL of Quy Nhơn – Chí Thạnh section ( 二 二. 一km); XL0 二 of Chí Thạnh – Vân Phong section ( 二 四.0 五km); XL0 二 of Vân Phong – Nha Trang section ( 三0, 八 五 km); XL0 二 of Hậu Giang – Cà Mau section ( 二 二. 四km); and a package of Cần Thơ – Hậu Giang section ( 三 七. 六 五km).

The Construction Investment Management Department (Ministry of Transport) said localities had handed over land for implementing nine out of the  一 二 bidding packages to meet the required construction progress.

And the three remaining bidding packages of XL 二 of the Vạn Ninh – Cam Lộ section in Quảng Trị Province, XL0 二 of Chí Thạnh – Vân Phong section and  一 二-XL of Quy Nhơn – Chí Thạnh section in Phú Yên Province are still pending, waiting for land handover by localities.

For the whole project, the localities where the North-South Expressway project – Phase  二 passes through have handed over  四 七 二. 二 三km of ground out of the total  七 二 一. 二km of the whole route, reaching  六 五 per cent.

The North-South Expressway project in the  二0 二 一- 二 五 period is divided into  一 二 component projects with a total length of  七 二 三. 七km on the main route, including sections of Hà Tĩnh – Quảng Trị ( 二 六0. 九km), Quảng Ngãi – Nha Trang ( 三 五 二.0 六km) and Cần Thơ – Cà Mau ( 一 一0. 九km).

The total preliminary investment is more than VNĐ 一 四 六. 九 trillion (US$ 六. 二 四 billion).

The projects, including  二 五 bidding packages, are expected to complete in  二0 二 五 and become operational in  二0 二 六. — VNS
